A directory containing personal details about more than 100 million Facebook users has surfaced on an Internet file-sharing site.
The 2.8GB torrent was compiled by hacker Ron Bowes of Skull Security, who created a web crawler program that harvested data on users contained in Facebook's open access directory, which lists all users who haven't bothered to change their privacy settings to make their pages unavailable to search engines.
Bowes' directory contains 171 million entries, relating to more than 100 million individual users - more than one in five of Facebook's recently trumpeted half billion user base.
The file contains user account names and a URL for each user's profile page, from which details such as addresses, dates of birth or phone numbers can be accessed. Accessing a user's page from the list will also enable you to click through to friends' profiles - even if those friends have made themselves non-searchable.
There's absolutely nothing illegal about what Bowes has done - the information is, after all, publicly available - but perhaps the existence of a stalker's online black book might finally persuade less security-minded Facebook users to get their arses in gear.

iago, you crazy sunna bitch
StarCraft in 5 minutes
Chatroullete Trolls Beware
[...] Recently I decided to seriously look into issue again, and I've had a breakthrough.
Luckily we all live in a real world, and we can easily apply the laws of a real world even on an internet application. With the help of a few good developers we've started collecting information, such as IP addresses, logs and screen captures of offenders who actually break US/UN laws by broadcasting inappropriate content in a specific situations. We've captured and saved thousands of IP addresses of alleged offenders, along with logs and screenshots which prove wrong behavior. We are initiating a conversation with enforcement agencies and we are willing to provide all the information we have. I hope that with help of a Criminal law we can finally get the problem out of our shoulders and get existing organizations which usually solve these kind of problems to help us.
Activision merger hasn't changed Blizzard, says Blizzard
Activision Blizzard came to fruition as the result of a merger between Activision and Vivendi Games back in 2007 (with the deal officially closing in 2008). Since the merger was announced, Blizzard fans have been concerned about the business mentality of the developer now that it is associated with Activision.
The most obvious example of this supposed mentality shift is in regards to StarCraft II. As it stands, StarCraft II will be made up of three individual games, with each game release being associated with an original campaign (one for each race–Terran, Protoss and Zerg). Many fans believe this was not Blizzard’s original plan for the sequel, but is instead the result of pressure from Activision.
However, Michael Ryder of Blizzard Entertainment is determined to clear the air of these rumors. The VP of International Operations said the following,
“Since we had our merger with Activision, it hasn’t changed anything at Blizzard. We make the same decisions in the same way we always have, and the relationship with Activision hasn’t changed that.
For Blizzard, our culture is extremely important. It is actually the basis for how we do what we do. We have a really strong culture that has a number of values that we share with our offices around the world. That culture, those values, binds us together and it defines the way we want to behave.”
What do you think are the long-term effects of the Activision Blizzard merger? Has Blizzard been corrupted by Activision? Or is Ryder being sincere in his explanation?
EQ2 goes free and Extended
After five years years in service, Sony Online Entertainment's MMORPG EverQuest II is going free-to-play -- but not in the same way as other MMOs have done in the past.
Instead of turning EverQuest II into a completely free-to-play MMO powered by virtual item sales, SOE is introducing a "parallel" free-to-play version of the game, EverQuest II Extended. The new version, whose beta launches this August, will generate revenue through microtransactions, while the subscription-based version will continue to operate separately.
EverQuest II producer David Georgeson told Gamasutra that SOE made the move to spark growth in a "stable" yet stagnant subscriber base that's held back by a steep learning curve and a monthly subscription fee.
"What we needed to do was open it up to a large number of people who have never seen [EverQuest II] before," Georgeson said. "And the obvious way to do that was to break down the walls between the game experience and the players that might want to check it out."
Valve's Anti-Cheat makes an oopsie! L4D2 awarded to 12,000 MW2 Players
Valve is offering free copies of Left 4 Dead 2 to Steam users who have recently found themselves banned from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 due to a glitch. The erroneous bans have since been reversed, and company president Gabe Newell sent an apology letter to those affected.
According to Newell, the bans affected about 12,000 users over a two-week period, many of whom publicized the issue via forum discussions and tips to consumer news sites. Each affected user received an email from Newell explaining the tech snafu and offering two free Left 4 Dead 2 games, with one that can be gifted to a friend.
"This was our mistake, and I apologize for any frustration or angst it may have caused you," wrote Newell in his letter, published by numerous consumer media outlets including Kotaku.
"The problem was that Steam would fail a signature check between the disk version of a DLL and a latent memory version," he explained. "This was caused by a combination of conditions occurring while Steam was updating the disk image of a game."
Newell clarified that the error wasn't something inherent to Modern Warfare 2, and said Steam allows Valve to identify and reverse erroneous bans.
He said affected users who did not already own a copy of Left 4 Dead 2, the latest in the company's popular multiplayer zombie shooter franchise, would find a copy already waiting for download in their library, and that they could access a code to share with a buddy via Steam's gift and guest pass management center.
Amazing. Valve continues to show others how things are supposed to be done in the industry -- unlike some others. If anyone was lucky enough to be banned, I could use a gifted copy. :D
@Diablo answers a good D3 question
If you want to play at the same time you’ll need two Battle.net accounts, and two copies of the game.—Diablo

StarCraft II Retail Maphack
Anyway, seeing as it's launch day for the retail version I decided a good way to celebrate would be to release a simple maphack that reveals the main map and minimap in campaign and multiplayer modes. Please keep in mind that this is a public hack, so there are detectability risks involved with using it. It is currently undetected and I expect it to remain that way for some time.
How to Use:
1. Start StarCraft II.
2. Run the application Load.exe.
3. Press the F5 key at any time to turn it on and off.
You do not need to keep the loader window open after loading the maphack.
And CraniX's Maphack which was the first SC2 retail hack released public AFAIK.
SC2 Campaign Crack
How to play campaign maps without owning a Battle.Net Account
Requirements:
MPQ Editor: http://www.zezula.net/en/mpq/download.html
SC2Crack http://ul.to/k9s7hh
1. Extract SC2Folder\Campaigns\Liberty.SC2Campaign\Base.SC2Maps to a folder of your choice
2. Open up the Mapeditor that comes with SC2 and create a new map and save it as template.SC2map - then close the Editor
foreach Map 3.
3.1. Create a folder with the according map name e.g. TRaynor01
3.2. Copy and paste the template.SC2Map file in there
3.3. Open the template.SC2Map with the MPQ Editor
3.4. Go to the folder where you extracted the files of Base.SC2Maps - in my case: D:\Games\StarCraft II\Maps\Campaign\TRaynor01.SC2Map\
3.5. Drag and drop the files from the folder in the MPQ Editor
3.6. Close MPQ Editor - rename the template.SC2Map to the map name - in this case TRaynor01.SC2Map
To launch the maps - use the SC2 Mapeditor, as drag 'n dropping them over SC2.exe will cause them to bug.
Enjoy playing campaign, altho this is quite a hacky way, you can do it.

Spare Change

I'm thinking about taking this blog to a new level and perhaps making it a little more serious. A re-design might be in order, but right now I'm thinking that doesn't really make much of a difference in conveying information anyway. Not much wrong with the way it is now, but the color scheme is almost default and the layout in its entirety could probably use some tweaking. I'm no web-design expert and haven't worked on a serious site since before YouTube existed.
edit: Yay, for a near-instant three comments. Just wanted to add: Big thanks to those who have donated this past week. Our server payments are set for the next couple of months already.

StarCraft 1.16.1 Zerg Resource Hack
Programmed by Jiggie
Exploits by Dew
Note:
Program the other exploits for different races. Find them. Make them. I'm not
supporting this hack or anyone trying to find the other exploits along with this hack.
Figure it out.
Jiggie + The command engine:
/of - Finds the nearest drone on to the left of the map, starts to exploit
/c - Use this to gain money when you build something
Dew:
END - Use this for createing unlimited drones (/c works excellent but it is to many drones)
Usage:
Mineral hack. Type /of, drone starts to burrow. When the timer reaches "2" build any unit (with gas or without) then
when Commands are lock appears. Type /c on the building unit and you get gas/minerals back instantly unlimited. Before
the egg is almost done cancel it. *Same with refund/unlimited drones on zerg except build a extractor*
Then everyone print a e-thug picture of MA[Night] and throw darts at it ;o.
I'm probably going to upload some more SC1 hacks later.

The original Starcraft was released some 12 years ago and has become one of the most popular PC titles ever, selling over 11 million units to date. The first entry in the game's sequel, following years of fan anticipation, arrives in two weeks bearing an unprecedented budget.
According to the Wall Street Journal (subscription required), Activision Blizzard has spent over $100 million on the three-part sequel to the science-fiction real-time strategy game, which kicks off with Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty on July 27.
The report stated the $100 million was purely development price and made no mention of marketing expenditures. That lofty figure well exceeds Gran Turismo 5's $60 million development cost, one of the most expensive video games to date.
Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has previously labeled the Starcraft franchise as one of the company's seven "pillars of opportunity." Kotick said each pillar has the potential to reap between $500 million and $1 billion of operating profit for the publisher throughout its life. The other pillars are Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, World of Warcraft, Diablo, new Blizzard MMOG, and Bungie's new intellectual property.
Kotick wasn't the only Activision Blizzard executive speaking about the game though. Blizzard president Mike Morhaime told the paper that the publisher should be able to migrate some of its World of Warcraft subscribers to Starcraft II.
"We've brought in a lot of new players in the beta testing who've been playing World of Warcraft but have never tried Starcraft," Morhaime said.

B. Kotick, Pres of AV -- still greedy as fuck, man
The pres i dent of Activi son, Bobby Kotick, believes that the major ity of peo ple pay ing to useXBL are pay ing to play Mod ern War fare 2 — –Activi sion does not get a share of that profit.
“We’ve heard that 60 per cent of [Microsoft’s] sub scribers are prin ci pally on Live because of Call of Duty,” Kotick told FT. “We don’t really par tic i pate finan cially in that income stream. We would really like to be able to pro vide much more value to those mil lions of play ers play ing on Live, but it’s not our network.”
While one might feel bad that activi sion isn’t get ting in on it’s “share” of the prof its one does have to real ize that it releases $15 dol lar map packs that it sells mil lions of. Hav ing said this it isn’t like Activi sion is hurt ing for money.
Kotick’s solu tion is to turn to the PC, where it can set its own model for pric ing – not unlike what Bliz zard has done with World of War craft and Battle.net. Kotick stated that Activi sion would “very aggres sively” sup port the likes of HP and Dell in any attempt of mak ing an easy ‘plug-and-play’ PC that would hook up directly to the TV.
